Yes - they all sound like culprits.  I will check them especially the ECU - although there was no sign of any electrical fluctuations during this process of fial.  Just rough engine, volatile idle, then stall with no restart.  I would think the engine check light would come on if there was an ECU problem.

  Colin:  it sounds electrical in nature, still like the fuel pump relay or pump.  Might also be the engine grounds or ECU grounds; make sure they're all intact and clean.
