[Es2] adjusting the wastegate spring

Ben,

Carefully drill the thin metal cap in the center of the wastegate. Some
folks advocate using a huge drill bit, but my technique is to use a small
drill bit and then pry the cap off - it's cleaner. Underneath is a 6 mm
internal hex screw that is held in place with some serious Loctite. Use
heat and pressure to break it loose.

To set the preload, carefully crank it down until it is near the bottom of
its perch. !WARNING, you can overcrank the bolt until it falls out the
bottom. Don't do this! Anyway, in this position, it will cause your car to
hesitate, jerk, or stumble under WOT. Back the screw back out until this
behavior disappears. Or, just set the screw according to whatever tuning
hoodoo makes you happy. Everyone has an opinion about this.

Good luck,

Jimmy
