Description:
PICTURES.
1983 Audi Quattro (aka Ur-Quattro). Colorado and California car. Clean title. I have owned this car over 10 years and Ive put tens of thousands of $$$$ of work into her over the years to make her a reliable daily driver. I have completed a stripped-down-tothe-chassis-restoration of another Ur Quattro race car project and the birth of my second child requires that one of them must go
..(the quattros - not the child).
Zermatt silver with brown cloth interior. Fuchs wheels with brand new 215/55/60 Kumho tires. The rear fenders have been professionally rolled so the car will accept the wide 8 rims without rubbing. 260k miles on the chassis but only 100k on an MC motor and all fuel system from 1988 5000 turbo. Motor was taken specifically from an automatic FWD 5000 because the boost limit is lower (she was babied). This car does NOT vapor lock like most UrQs do.
More of the good:
Completely rebuilt big valve head with sodium-filled exhaust valves (all new valve guides, seals, head gasket, etc) approx. 8000 miles ago.
K24 water-cooled turbo from Ur S4 for faster turbo response
2Bennett HUGE intercooler
Spearco silicon reinforced intercooler to turbo hose with Sport Quattro turbo bypass valve (blow off)
2Bennett monster 3-inch all aluminum radiator (this thing never goes above 90 deg. C in 110-degree weather)
Setrab oil cooler mounted up front behind the grille with custom braided stainless oil lines (oil never goes above 80 degrees C).
Custom Shadetree Software 2bar performance chip
Custom 1-button remote code dump lets you check for problems without the need special diagnostic software (blinks out computer codes using the seat belt warning light)
Separate installed relays and dedicated wiring for the fuel/timing computer, the radiator fan, and fuel pump to increase reliability.
Brand new hydraulic servo from Audi (this is the $800 brake system part everyone is forced to rebuild)
Relayed headlights with H4 headlights (the inner H1 lights are not currently hooked up but another relay could be added easily)
G60 front brakes and S4 rear brakes with all new rotors around and kevlar pads - stainless steel brake lines, upgraded rear parking brake cables means she wont budge with the parking brake on
New clutch hydraulic lines, clutch slave, and master.
New clutch, throwout bearing and tranny seals 20,000 miles ago
Completely reworked front and rear suspension with new strut bearings, Bilstein Heavy Duty shocks, ties rods, ball joints, suspension bushings, wheel bearings.
New transmission and differential mounts. New driveshaft carrier bearing.
New rear diff seals (left and right sides)
Amsoil transmission oil and Mobil 1 rear diff oil
All synthetic motor oil since Ive owned her
Does not leak a drop of oil
Inside she has the rare ABT gage cluster with oil temp, boost, and oil pressure gauges
Windows go up and down perfectly
New Blaupunkt radio
Brand new windshield and seal
Techtonics reinforced exhaust hangers
Coolant temp gauge in place of the stock boost gauge.
Both front fenders are only 3 years old.
The not so good:
She was hit in New York state(car lived back east for a few years with me) in the back left corner of the bumper. As part of the repair I had the entire car stripped to bare metal and repainted. The paint is great but as is the case with the majority of these cars theres some small surface rust in the small seam below the doors (where the front and rear body panels are joined). Theres a dime-sized dent on the roof which is barely noticeable where a former girl fiend let a bike fall on the roofrack.
The AC does not work. The wiring is perfect and the compressor is a rebuilt unit installed last year but Im guessing the stupid expansion valve is blocked ($40 part). The compressor engages and the radiator fan turns on when the AC is turned on, just no cold air).
Sunroof seal is pretty tired. Doesnt leak or anything but it has seen better days.
Rear muffler has a hole in the bottom
Included, if you want (and if you haul it away) is the original WX motor including just about everything including the K26 turbo and exhaust manifold (and wiring harness)
Serious inquiries only, please. If youre interested, come see it, youll agree its a beautiful car. Keep in mind this is almost a 25-year old car and I have tried to explain all the issues and virtues. There is no warranty expressed or implied though. The roof rack is NOT included (I may throw in the feet though). I'd love a lister to own her. Limited-time deal before she goes on Ebay.....
