The rabbit has a 1.6 n/a diesel, AVO GTX coilovers, 15x7 borbet type T's, euro bumpers f/r, recently rebuilt injection pump (under 50k on it, rebuilt by Deters Automotive in Redwood City), top half of engine was refreshed (rebuilt cylinder head, head gasket, timing belt, water pump, tensioner, glow plugs). New alternator & cluster voltage regulator. New clutch throwout bearing. New brakes all around (rotors, drums, drum rebuild kits, pads, shoes, wheel cylinders & e-brake cables). Rear metal window louver. 28mm rear sway added. Kenwood CD player & in-dash speakers. Currently the car has a 4 speed trans and will cruise 75mph all day. I'd trust this car to take me anywhere, and it handles like it's on rails.

Im looking for a 4k diesel in good running condition (turbo or not). Surface rust OK but trying to avoid cancer. Straight body would be nice but can work with some dents or possibly something larger as long as there is no frame damage. Interior/stereo doesn't matter (have a donor vehicle, so seats can be destroyed and it can have 3 inches of dirt for all I care), and broken or cracked glass is also acceptable. Injection pump must not leak diesel. Aside from that if it moves under its own power and will stop eventually from braking then we can make a deal.

The original plan was to acquire a 4k diesel project on the side while driving the rabbit, but unfortunately I may have lost my extra work space due to the recent acquisition of a family owned vehicle that wont be going anywhere anytime soon (under 20k original mile muscle car still with the original owner). I did have a few leads as to 4k diesels for sale on the west coast but knowing my parking spot was in jeopardy I was reluctant to follow up.

I drive the rabbit daily so am in no big rush to be rid of the ol' girl, I really enjoy the car but would like to get back to my Audi roots. Pics on request.
