Brake pressure accumulator

87 5000TQ has been acting srange lately.  After a drive of about an hour, the brake pedal would drop when depressed and have a hard pedal feel of no power assist.  The next the car would be fine.  Now it is occuring on shorter runs.   It also seems to give rise to a pulsing feeling in the steering when the brake pedal is depressed.  The later symtom is caused by the rotars, but these were just replaced recently and I have had not problem with them otherwise.

Has anyone had a similiar experience.
