Although auto engines will accept a 5spd gearbox, there are a great deal of other itmes that need attending to when a conversion on a V8 is done.. A few items for example...
Engine managment system.. uses inputs from auto trans computer
ABS.. Interfaces with center diff on auto trans
Drive axles and prop shaft
Instrument clusters are different
These are the major items.. There are hundreds more smaller items such as shift knob provisions undercarriage sound proofing etc...
