Valve spring compressor questions.

Will

I use a large socket just smaller than the lifter bore.  Wrap electrical tape
aroung it so it will not mar the bore.  With the C type compressor I can
compress the
springs.  Then I use a magnet tipped screwdriver to install  and remove the
keepers
thru the end of the socket the wrench goes into.
