Hi List,

A few months ago I had the use of my Dad's Land Rover Freelander whilst he
recovered from a broken leg. It has a 1.8 k series engine in it which fills
about a third of the engine bay, leaves about a foot of space above the engine
under a closed bonnet. There is plenty of space there and from below it is not
too much trouble for the local neighbourhood stray cats to get under and sit on
top of the engine for a nice warm nap, little devils.

I got back from a weekend away and found the bonnet scratched to sh*t with very
muddy paw prints, the foam sound proofing under the bonnet was covered with cat
hair. Looks like the local stray dog decided to try and dig the cat out through
the bonnet. The scratches covered the bonnet, bumper both front wings and both
doors. Sorry Dad!

Graham.

P.S. on his way to choosing a Freelander my Dad considered an A4 2.7q
avant and a Subaru Impreza Turbo estate before deciding on the LR... defies
belief really;)
