Depends.  Do you want a dependable vehicle that you
can feel comfortable and confident driving anywhere,
or are you the adventurous type who alway carries duct
tape, baling wire, etc., and like MacGuyver can make a
CV joint out of matchsticks and chewing gum.  If you
keep a vehicle long enough you'll replace all that
stuff anyway.  The choice is whether you do it when
YOU want to, at the mechanic of YOUR choice or ???  I
prefer to do it now as I don't much like lying under
my car at the side of the road at 2am in a rain storm.
