87 Coupe Fuel distributor

Does anyone have the settings to reset the air flow sensor-plate potentiometer (also called the air-flow sensor position indicator) on a late 1987 Coupe fuel distibutor housing?

Before dismantling the unit and removing the pivot pin and attached arm, I noted that the potentiometer sensor arm appeared parallel to the sensor plate lever...
However, after examining the set up of other units (off different cars), I have found them all to be different... so now, I'm uncertain about the setup during the rebuild. 

Is there anyone out there that has tinkered with this unit that could offer some advice? 

Details: I have a late 87 coupe (2.3 liter engine), 
the Bosch Fuel distributor part Number is 0 438 121 049
the potentiometer number is 3 437 224 028.

Finally, does anyone know of an Audi club guru living in Texas / Oklahoma area?
If anyone can offer any help or advice, I'd be extremely grateful!
