84 coupe fuel injection

hi, just got back yesterday with a set of nice seats and the injection
system from fuel in/return through to injectors and regulator.  id like to
strip and clean and rebuild the assembly myself and fit it to my car ;

can i do this on the bench? (ie. is there any adjustments that i'll have to
set on the car except idle mixture?)

would i be better off just cleaning the injector lines and injectors and
leaving the fuel head intact??

how would i go about cleaning/checking the regulator?

if anyone has any good info for me id appreciate any help i could get,
