'95 90qs: Cut Out, etc. ECU!

I think your dealer is reading the book instead of diagnosing the
problem. The shop manual has a section with 77 fault codes, of which 41
have the list of corrective steps ending in "Replace ECM J192." I had a
similar experience at my dealer with my air conditioner -- the book said
"replace the high pressure sensor," so they did. Four times. Then the
computer, 3 times. Then the low pressure sensor a few times. After 6
YEARS of this they finally found the loose wire. Shortly after that
they had to replace the entire A/C system because it failed altogether
from 6 years of abuse.
Make sure they have a good reason for wanting to replace the ECU!
Remember that towing the car to another mechanic is still cheaper than
the ECU.
