Not I.

I heard about the same segment from my Brother in law, who is interested in
buying an Audi.

He was telling me about how Click&Clack were ragging on AUDI electicals. I
was tempted to slam them as what they said borders upon slander. They
really don't know what they are talking about, and do a major disservice
with such disinformation.

I believe the problem inquired about was a 150Kmiles or so, mid-late 80's
5000 owner was inquiring about the climate control fan cutting out when
going around a corner. They offered no solution or cause of the problem,
which was probably the brushes wearing out. Instead, they cut on Audi
electricals.

I know these cars aren't perfect, but it is Ironic the Climate control
system is mostly AC Delco, eg G.M and the car had seen many years and miles,
with relatively few problems as understand the owner had said.

<Was that you on Cartalk? I heard the segment and was a little disgusted
with the outcome. Audi electricals were compared to Lucas (the prince of
darkness)!
I don't know if anyone else heard the Cartalk, but the climate control
system was being criticized as if it was an Audi unit. What I know about
this system is that it was sourced from GM. How interesting...
I also own an '86 5ktq and love the car (with it's quirks) and will
certainly admit that Audi used poor judgement with choosing GM to supply the
climate control units. I think the twist on this is that GM probably didn't
know how long their climate control units would actually last because they
were installed in GM cars. Who really would know how long these units would
last until they were actually installed in a car that would test their
longevity.
Really, when is the last time anyone saw a GM product last into the 200-300k
mile territory like so many Audis I've seen.

<Click and Clack called me a cheapskate with my Audi. Ben>>

That was from one of those Car-A-Scope things I ran about a year ago. They
asked a bunch of questions like "if there are dishes in the sink do you:
A) Wash them right away.
:
E) let them pile up until you or someone else is forced to do them."
