Start the car, switch the climate control to defrost. If the fan doesn't
start, open the hood and give the firewall a solid knock. Better yet, lift
the plastic cover and tap directly on the blower housing. If the fan
starts, you've found your problem: the blower motor bearings are seizing.
You can temporarily (well, has worked for over a year on my 5KT) fix it by
spraying some lubricant through the rubber motor vent.
