Off Boost Stumble/Low Power

On the way to work this morning, the TQW did something that started yesterday: at highway speeds, if you back off on the throttle (like you are coming to a stoplight) the rpms come down fine and it will hold a somewhat rough idle at 900 rpm. When you start out, it is real rough - missing on one to two cylinders - and there's no power. Barely stumbled into the parking deck. It started fine cold leaving home, developed after warming up.
It did this once yesterday but cleared up (I know, shoulda checked it).
I'm thinking that the (old) Michelin Man hose has a tiny hole in it, will check it at lunch. I don't believe the ISV is stuck because it seems to hold an okay idle. Valve cover gasket and the rubber T fitting on top of the valve cover are brand new 3k miles ago, and I had cleaned the ISV at that time.
Thoughts?
