settling on '88 5kcstq instead of '91 200 or V8?

I have a question for your MC1 Type 44 owners, or anyone else
who cares to comment.

Do you find yourselves totally content with your '86-'88 5k's, or do
you wish you had chosen a later MC2 dual knock sensor, higher
compression model, or maybe a '91 200 or V8?

After looking at this 20vt (http://euro-car-service.com/audipic1.htm),
I'm thinking I would sure like to get a 20vt and mess with that
instead of starting to tinker with my '88 5kcstq. I would be better
served selling it as is without dumping too much money into it, like
new struts, window tint, and chipping. Also, I prefer the newer
style dash and door handles. And the rear wheelwells on the late
ones.

One direction I may take is to get my 4kstq project finished, and
then sell both my '88 5kcstq and my Saturn to get a '91 200 or
V8q. The other is to accept that I already have my '88 and am
starting to know it's history and that it doesn't need much. I could
keep it and fix it up nicely, and I wouldn't have to buy it first since I
already own it.

I'm still at a stage where I can switch before I get too stuck.

Any advice? If it helps, I'm the type of guy that wants the best, and
is willing to do without than to do with something less. But even
with a '91 200, there are S4's and lots of other crazier cars. So,
practicality must settle in somewhere, I think. Even wanting the
best, I don't want to be on the bus with a nice S8 T-shirt on.

Thanks!

Ken
