I loved my written test....5 multiple choice questions was all New York State 
asked me...one of them being..."what colors are destination signs on 
highways?" on top of that, when I was given the test, the woman forgot to rip 
off the answer portion...(not like I need them anyways)...NYS has gone to 20 
questions now but still? thats all you need for a permit?

then take a 5 hour course (classroom only) which was really 4 hours for me, 
with an hr for lunch in the middle...taught by a gentleman whose accent we 
could hardly understand...THEN singed up for a road test w.o any behind the 
wheel training needed. altho the road tests are on the open road which can be 
interesting...but it's not a cop who's testing tho.

so a new driver can be as young as just a mos. if not less over 16?! I love 
New York, all it takes is money....
