I thot I should go faster because the traffic was piling up
behind me, but I guess not the officer. That sucked. I also
know couple people who failed at the written test. LOL"
3/86, my first Washington State Driver's test:
300 lb examiner shoehorns his way into my 1978 Scirocco. The
seatbelt took several large inhale/exhales, and then he was
in, small beads of swet emerging from the nose and forehead.
He then directed me through some backroads, and then dumped
me onto a main avenue. It was at least a 1/4 mile before the
next speed limit sign; meanwhile I am judging my spacing
with existing traffic front and rear. Unfortunately,
"existing" traffic does 5-10 mph over, and when we passed
the speed sign it was all over. "Return to the office", and
I was done. My wife, taking the test also that day, passed.
I have heard about this more than I care to mention.
I have thought many times how fun it would have been to take
that guy for a joy ride. That Scirocco would have induced
cardiac arrest within that same 1/4 mile..
A detour I should have taken. (MAC)
