Boge Turbo Gas are NOT the OEM shocks. Boge does make the
OEM units, but they are a hydraulic made for the purpose.

The Turbo gas are an excellent compromise between the stiff
made-for-the-track Bilsteins and the soft OEM hydraulics.
I have used them a number of times with excellent results.
Currently, they are on my '95 A6QW. Had them on my '90 90Q20V,
and my '85 Golf too.

There is also a Pro Gas which is supposed to be just a little
bit more forgiving on flat bumpy roads, but I've never tried them.

The Koni Red or Yellow adjustables gave a good ride, I had them
on my '89 100Q, but I was never impressed with their reliability.
I broke three of them, just commuting, no track use.

I've used the Bilsteins, they do handle GREAT, but they can rattle
the teeth right out of your skull on a crummy road.
