Not necessarily- the Bilstein dealer I talked to when I bought my
shocks told me, with corroboration from Bilstein USA, that the
HDs and the Sports are the same length, with the Sports having stiffer
valving. This is only for the 5ktq application- other applications
can be different. For example, on a Nissan Pathfinder, the HD is a
stiffer valved shock that can be used as an OEM replacement, while
the Sport is a short, ultra-stiff shock designed originally for
stock class trucks in the Baja 1000. Talk about a world of difference.

It was my understanding that Bilstein HD's and Sports are valved
the same, and the only difference is that the extended length of the
Sports is shorter. This wasn't universally accepted as truth,
however, so it could be incorrect.
