check the warm-up regulator, it's like a CIS choke. It's probably dead,
giving you no 'choke' in the morning. The right way to check the regulator
is w/ a special CIS fuel pressure gauge. The cheapest I could get it was
for $55 at JCWhitney. I had a similar problem and I had the mixture set
extra rich while it was broken. So I got mediocre cold running w/ rich
normal running. You can adjust the mixture by turning the 3mm allen head
screw in the fuel dist. I don't recommend doing it unless you can get it
back to the right position, b/c you want to have a proper adjustment when
you get things in shape. To set the mixture, you need a dwell or duty cycle
meter. The warm-up regulators can be expensive, but really need to be new.
Old ones usually have burnt up heating elements and will have more
problems. Check www.thepartsconnection.com good luck.
