MC engine swap minutia

Please bear with me as I hash out some of the more simple issues
regarding an MC conversion into my 4ksq.

What should I use to label the wiring harness and items? I picture
masking tape with magic marker writing on it, getting all thrashed
and greasy so that it is illegible. (I imagine this swap will take at
least a month, working at a pace comfortable to me) How about
some clear shipping tape wrapped around the written-on masking
tape? What have others done for labelling?

Should I try to locate the ECU in the same location as stock, at
the passenger footwell are? Is there a better place?

Oh wow, I just remembered I should probably get a hold of a
vacuum canister, to accumulate vacuum for the brakes. Maybe
later, I'll have the hole machined into the head for the vacuum
pump, just to be extra safe. Where is a good place for vacuum
canisters, Summit? Can I use the stock vacuum canisters that I
remember my Coupe GT had in the fender, with the three joined
globes? If going that route, I would probably have to fashion my
own check valve?

This is exciting stuff. It will be nice to have this project be at the
stage that it is one car getting fixed up and stuff bought for it. It
would be easier to justify buying whatever items are the capstones
(does that make sense, correct use of the term?) for an almost
finished car, than justify accumulating yet another separate piece
of hardware that is for this grand project that isn't yet started.

That's all I can think of at the moment. There will likely be more
later.

Thanks!

Ken
