While Huw's solution is most definitely workable, it does require the
addition of relays and a fairly significant rewiring effort.  If you don't
already have relays for your headlights then you also have to worry about a
place to mount relays so that they will be protected from the underhood
environment ...

The solution that I have implemented several times now (Fox, ury and 4kq)
is to simply cut the brown ground wire for the side marker light, and
attach it to the "hot" wire for the nearby turn signal.  I don't know what
the color of this wire is on your car, but either a voltmeter or wiring
diagram should get it for you.  

I have posted the theory behind my solution here at least once in the past
... suffice it to say that it takes advantage of the fact that bright turn
signal, headlight and brake light filaments have a lot less resistance than
the small cornering lamp bulb.  By doing this mod you will notice the
marker light will flash in phase with the signals when the headlights are
off, and out of phase with the signals when the headlights are on.
