Clutch Pedal Odd Behaviour

Had the clutch pedal sticking to the floor occur this AM and have searched
the archives for solutions but have an odd twist to add.

I'm losing no fluid on the floor, in the car nor is there a drop in the MC
reservoir level. The odd part is when the clutch is depressed part way and
sticks - the pedal then moves to the floor as though being pressed. There is
actually force applied moving it to the floor as felt when trying to hold
the pedal up with my toe or hand.

There doesn't seem to be any way for this to occur so I'm confused - anybody
know what's happening?
