I tend to disagree. Every time an electric motor dies on a car, I take it
to a trusted electrician and say "please rebuild it". He replaces bearings,
brushes and machines the commutator. These are the only parts that wear
out. This costs me $30 vs. $150 for a new motor. IMHO it doesn't make sense
to put new parts on a 13 years old car if they can be successfuly rebuilt.
Same applies to alternators, starter motors, PS pumps, racks etc.
