It seems like vacuum would be gentler on things.  A faster setup 
time means less time for things like gears to mesh.  Not to 
criticize someone's setup, I don't know if it matters.

Speaking of dash space, it seems like it would make more sense 
for my '88 5kcstq to have the radio above the climate controls.  The 
climate controls are automatic, so they shouldn't require as much 
messing with.  The radio on the other hand, gets alot more activity. 
 I like the high location on the A2 Jetta's and such for the radio, for 
example.
