H4's are dual filament bulbs, so they have high beams. Not sure why you
would hear it called a "cheaper" bulb.. Unless maybe they really are cheaper
than 9004's at parts stores? I wouldn't know.. never really paid close
attention to the difference in price.

They were still a good deal. the $450 included a set of replacement lenses
and an sky-hi shipping charge of $200! Not my first choice of carriers..
but the lights arrived on my doorstep from England in a record 3 days! If I
could have choosen a somewhat less expediant form of shipment I could have
saved a lot. The invoice from the lights (<digging out receipt>) shows:

2 headlamps (in pounds):  (70.23(*2) + 17.5% VAT) = 165.05 pounds == (using
1.41 dollars/pound) $232.70 US
2 spare lenses (in pounds): (22.49(*2) + 17.5% VAT) = 52.85 pounds == $74.52
US

Now, if I hadn't been an idiot and remembered to buy BOTH the brackets AND
the city light socket while I was putting the order together from England (I
later bought the brackets and socket from Canada) I would have saved mucho
$$.  That and shipping...
