On the 5kCSTQ, the molded hose that goes from the crankcase vent, which
is low on the left side rear of the engine (viewed from the driver's seat),
up to the intake manifold area is prone to get weak and develop splits on
the bottom like Kneale says. I had this go out three times in 200K miles
on my '86 5kCSTQ.
Another symptom not mentioned, is the car will die at idle and you'll
have to keep the revs up to keep it from dying. This is because of the
unmetered air entering the system which makes it go too lean to idle.
