The term sidemarker is quite misleading in this context. European cars does not have
sidemarkers in the same manner as the US-spec cars (well some Volvos do). What we
have is a front turnsignal and a side repeater, i.e. a small, side mounted turn
signal. No continuos glowing amber light at the front side. Some European countries
did not have the side repeater light.
The type 81/85/89 model 80 has the turnsignal next to the H4 unit, and a bumper
completely without lights.
The type 81/85/89 model 90 has the turnsignal in the bumper next to the fog light
unit.
Both the 80 and 90 has the side repeater on the front fender, aft of the front wheel
arch.
Both models has it's parking light in the H4 reflector, this is commonly referred to
as a "citylight" in the US. None of these car's parking lights are visible from the
side of the car.
There are pictures of the 80 and 90 with Euro-spec lights on Tom Nas' pages.
