5KTQ no start

Mike,
The inj. has a life to them, between 50-100K (very general statement!). In
the past you might have attributed problems to other factors.

Symptoms are:
Somewhat rough idle
Hard starting when warm (still starts though)
A slower response during acc. a little hesitation at times
High CO reading at idle
Overall just not running right

It is not "all that difficult" to change them, but if they have never been
changed you might have some issues with getting them out, just be careful
and take your time............

You can but the inj. from any dealer (costly) a Bosch dealer or any of our
vendors on the list. The inj. will come with seals and I suggest staying
away from rebuilds (haven't had any luck with them).
The cost should be about 45-60 per injector, costly but WELL worth it!

Let me know,
Take care,
Avi

Avi,
Must be kismet, I was just cleaning out my drawers and reading one of your
posts re higher amp alts! I know I am gonna pay for this, but I have never
had an injector
problem that I know of on any of my Quats, oldest 81 and still running well.
I won't dismiss it on the 5000, but why would it start fine cold and not
when warm? Are you saying they may be clogged? What is the nature of the
injector degradation that causes this?
Seals I can imagine. OK so where does one get injectors and seals, I might
tackle it myself.
Thanks
Mike
