Ur-q dash lights

well, i got my car running and driving.but, i took out all the gauges in the 
console that were installed by previous owner and now no dash lights or 
running lights. All the vacuum tubing to the diff locks were left unplugged.I 
replaced it with the panel that is supposed to be there. Also, removed the 
alpine stereo that turned on all by itself. 
 What should I be looking for? 
I think I want to re- connect the gauges but mount them in a different place. 
Priority is the lights, thiough.
