Radiator Fan Relay... clikcing noise

Hey, I think my Radiator fan relay is shot.  Making a lot of clatter (btw, 
car is a 5KTQ)....  it's the red one, says 500 watt Rad fan relay.  

What does this relay do and should I be concerned with the fact it has gone.  
I heard something about bad wiring for the electrical radiator fan or the 
resistor pack and if it went bad, you could be stuck fixing a ton of preblems 
(bills) and with a rather expensive repair bill.  

Any advice appreciated!  I'll hopefully be picking up a new one this 
weekend...  just hoping there isn't anything more I need to be concerned 
about.
