Wastegate springs values-[5kT]

Dennis,
It doesn't actually increase the amount of boost. It just helps to keep the
wastegate from cracking open early, giving the result of quicker boost buildup.
On my 87 5kcstq, it didn't raise the boost at all, it just enabled the car to run
factory boost amounts, 1.4bar, at a lower rpm level. It isn't detrimental to the
car, since all of the factory safety features are still enabled and the boost
wasn't actually increased.
Yes, adding more tension on the spring results in boost being built faster.
But, like I said, it won't change the basic value of the spring.
It was actually an outstanding mod for me because of the altitude at which I
live. It gave the car a whole different personality.... Of course so did the
recent S.Knob installation, but that's a whole different ball game.
Hope that helps to clarify.
