paint shops in Maine?

Hi Nick,

Nate's Brother Speaketh on the list :-)

Anyhow as far as body shops go it is really hard to get a decent paint job
for under $3k. I've had many experiences with body shops and I think from
now on I'm going to follow the advice of some fellow listers and do all the
prep work myself and then flatbed the car to MACO to get a quick shot o'
paint. This is the best method because it will save you boatloads of money
and the results will be as good as you want them to be. The real art in
painting is making the surface you are trying to paint PERFECT. Many shops
skimp on the sanding/masking which results in a shoddy paint job. If you do
want a shop to do all the prep work and stuff, Hoaglands Auto Body in
Concord NH was pretty good (they did the engine bay on my 4ktq), and I
imagine they would give you a decent quote. It cost me around $300 for them
to do my engine bay (which involved a lot of other little things like
reinforcing the firewall around the clutch MC at the same time, removing the
battery tray, etc. ).
