From what I am getting from the 20 or so places I've called....The ten
times I've bugged Semple and Huw, and from what I've read online...The
bottom end of an JT/NF/NG engine is pretty much bulletproof til 300k, so
the lower end doesn't much have to be touched, except for throwing new
rings in the pistons and taking a look at the cylinder walls to check for
wear and tear. The head is good for just a port & polish, valve guides and
seals, lifters and that's about it...Should come under $1000. The real cost
for me is going to be doing the timing belt, water pump, seals,
injectors....While I'm at it, I'll be replacing all of my transmission
linkages, throwing the blaufernugen short shift kit in, shortening my shift
rod thingy...

Sounds like a fun project. What kind of a HP gain are you going to get out
of all of this? As far as wiring issues I think some people have used the
I figure since the engine is good for 130, and all of my little playing
around may snag me 10-15%, so I'll probably end up with 145?

I heard. Well, I should be significantly ahead on this game because I know
exactly what Huw likes to eat for chinese food (and I'm keeping it a trade
secret) and Nate's just insane for liking to help people for no charge...
