'86 CGT no start

Odd behavior with the '86 CGT today, possibly brought on by the cold
weather. Fire car up this morning (temps in 20s), starts fine, so brother
pulls the car into the driveway. About 45 minutes later, brother needs to
leave for work, and again the car fires up right away. Shifts into reverse,
hits gas to get him moving, and the car dies. While the car cranks fine, it
has not started since. I have checked the archives and my lame Haynes manual
that came with the car, and most troubleshooting deals with the obvious
check to see if you are getting fuel (fuel pump) and getting spark. I have
confirmed that I am getting spark, although the color of the spark appears
to yellow/orange in color and not blue. I also appear to be getting fuel,
since when I pulled the plugs they smell of gas, and also fuel spewed out of
the cold start valve when I removed it (I reinstalled the valve and cranked
again, pulled it off again and fuel pressure had built back up). The CGT has
always idled a bit rough, but has always started right up. Any ideas on
where to go next? TIA.
