Shaun,
I've just reached 5,000 miles in my 2.8 A4 Avant with sport package, xenons
and sport seats and so far the only issues have been dealer related:
o tire pressures were found to be 46psi all round
o driver's side door mirror had chip in it on delivery - to be fair to them
they spotted this when showing me the car and ordered a replacement
straight away
o brake warning light came on after 3,000 miles - cause was low fluid
level, I've not spotted any leaks so I can only assume that the fluid was
not topped off by the dealer before delivery
o engine oil level reached minimum mark on dipstick after about 1,000 miles
- this may have been just the new engine wearing in but given that the
brake fluid was low I think it likely that the oil was also low
o driver's side screen washer is aimed too low
As you can see these are really pretty minor and easily solved. I think the
lesson I learnt was that I really should have checked all fluids and
pressures on delivery rather than assuming that the dealer had done this
correctly.
All in all the car is wonderful and a joy to drive. My only complaints are
that compared with my old 5K the windows are rather small so visibility is
not so good and when the arm-rest between the front seats is down it gets
in the way of using the handbrake comfortably.
Enjoy,
AD.
