A4 Winter Driving Question

I have a 2001 A4 1.8tQ with the sport tire/suspension package.  I have snow 
tires on order, but they have not yet arrived.  Over the next couple of days 
I need to drive to northwestern Massachusetts, where I may encounter some 
flurries, and maybe some light accumulation.  Does anyone think I'm asking 
for big trouble attempting this with the 16" Dunlop SP8000s that come with 
the sport package (I do not have the ESP option)?

I have the non-OEM version of the same tire on my Alfa, and was once 
immobilized in very light snow, but without the benefits of Quattro.

If anyone has had relevant experience, your thoughts would be much 
appreciated!
