Actually (DIN 228) 'Normal' has a minimum of 91 ROZ.

Wasn't the question. You stated that the KG, MB and 1B required 98 RON.
They don't. The 1B and MB are designed for optimum performance on 95
RON and will run cheerfully on 92 RON - my own MB ran from the German
border (Rasthof Probsteier Wald) to Ingolstadt and back on 91 ROZ
without storing 2141 even once.
The KG is a special case because there are two versions - with and
without emission controls. I believe (but I'm not sure) that 98 RON/ROZ
is recommended for the unmodified KG. It certainly is for the WR, which
is technically a problem because 98 RON is no longer available in the
UK. It was always hard to find, but our 'Super Unleaded' is now defined
as 97 RON.
That said - we have club members with a total of 400,000 miles'
experience using 95 RON unleaded in WRs without any problems at all.
