coolant on the floor. Need help!

Hi Kosntantin;
This job is not difficult, but it is a PITA.
The heater housing is secured by the strap across the top and stuck to the
firewall with an adhesive gasket. I found I had to cut as much of the gasket
as I could to pry the box out without breaking anything. I made up a small
right angled knife edge tool to slide around the box and cut the gasket.
Note that you will need a new adhesive gasket to re-install the box.
Inside the car you have to remove the console side panels and disconnect the
vacuum motor tubing, the heater ducting, and the wiring connectors.
When disassembling the heater box, note that there are two screws "hidden"
at the bottom of very deep wells. If the box doesn't come apart easily, make
sure you have found all the screws. Make sure you have the flaps in the
right positions when you put the box together and that they move easily when
the box has been re-assembled.
On an '89 car, don't even think about replacing the heater core without
replacing the blower motor. If you are on the original motor, the brushes
will be worn out. You don't want to do this job twice.
Good luck. There is not much info in the Bentley on this procedure.
