97 a4q manual transmission fluid?

My 2.8Q A4 is getting a little hard to shift into 1st
and reverse now that it's getting cold.

I wanted to check the fluid level to see if it's low
and possibly change the fluid for the first time.  Can
anyone tell me if these transmissions use gl4 and what
the capacity is?

Might this be the beginning signs of a worn out clutch
(I only have 55k miles)?
