87 5kTQ stalling

This is a vac. leak. I've [as well as prolly every type 44 owner] had the
same problem. Mine would stall some times, then do fine for a while, then
only to die at a stop sign. It was just a really worn intake hose on the
front of the turbo. The hose cracked under the hose clamp itself, so it
looked fine, but the actually slipped on and off the turbo, causing the
stalling. The only way to look for leaks is to actually remove the entire
intake path after the air-flow meter. The problem is the cracks are usually
where you can't see them. Look at the boot on top of the air flow meter,
the hoses on the turbo, and michelin man. Also check the metal pipe for
cracks as well as intercooler and any leaking around the intake manifold.
Check other smaller hoses as well. The problem shouldn't be too hard to
find. In most cases, it becomes apparent after taking off a couple hoses.
good luck.
