Boy, this is weird.

Hi all,
As I'm at home with the flu and can't work on my cars anyway I decided to
do a little work on the new-and-improved version of my Audi site. One of
the subjects covered is the eternal 'Audis in movies' thread, so I decided
to do an audifans archives search to complete my list. The TV was on, some
stupid station showing reruns of US series. In between copy and pastes I
watched the screen, and lo and behold: a scene in a scrapyard with a
Mitsubishi Lancer (what are these called in the US?) sitting on top of a
Sapphire blue type 44 sedan. The series was called 'High incident', some
sort of cop show. Two thoughts ran through my head: "Geez, do I need to
keep the VCR running *all* the time?", and "This is a really weird
coincidence!".
While we're on the subject: does anyone want to contribute to this section
on my site? If you can do screen captures from any videos in your
possession where an Audi is co-starring, I'd really appreciate it! In order
not to rekindle the thread, I'd like you to send any replies by private
mail, please. Thanks a lot in advance!
On another matter: yesterday, I've added another couple of interesting
items to my Audi automobilia collection. One is the third version of the
1:18 scale models of the Audi A4 touring car racers made by UT/Minichamps.
I already had the factory and Abt versions, this one is the Australian
'Orix' version. Excellent detail, especially in the interior. Another one,
this time a rarity, is the SCX (Scalectrix) Audi 90 quattro IMSA GTO racer.
An excellent replica of this 720 hp beast which I've been lucky to see 'in
the metal' two times so far. I also came across a couple of interesting
brochures- '84 CGT, S2 Coupe, sedan and Avant, sales info for the
introduction of the S2 sedan and a brochure for the end-of-the-line type 44
100 CD.
Regards, Tom
