5k tq ABS xshooting

I have same problem with my 5KTQ for a while. ABS locking up about two feet
before the complete stop. Quite embarrassing when I carry passengers, I have
to apologize for Audi misbehaving while still being the best car around.
Sometimes I just turn it off to spare a need for explanation. When I asked
my mechanic to fix it, he was unexcited and tried to talk me out of it. Is
it fixable however expensive and difficult, or do I have to live with it?
Thanks,
Efraim
