Two dead tires, cracked rim, and who knows what else...

Almost the same thing happened to me in Maryland last night.  I hit a trench 
at about 30 mph.  Cracked rim, split tire on the sidewall.  I have access to 
welding equipment so the rim is no problem, just a little crack.  The tire is 
a total loss.  I bought it at the tire rack so there is no road hazard 
warranty.  I think with better headlights (soon to be H4/H1's)  I could have 
spotted the danger sooner.....
