"Better" is somewhat subjective

Please feel free to expound on the basis of your pronouncement, but this
ol' soldier wouldln't call a buzzy turbo-4 "better" than a six cylinder
motor, especially when the outputs of the two are reasonably close.

Unless, of course, the 1.8T has balance shafts
