I mounted the Alpine unit in my '92 100S under the rear deck on the
passenger side. Be careful on selecting a location and drilling holes for
mounting screws. The rear deck interior material is rests directly on the
metal frame in places, so you need to locate an area with clearance between
the carpet and metal frame. The OEM mounting location for the CS models w/
the Bose head unit controlled changer was behind the passenger side
wheelwell in the trunk. I looked into mounting mine there, but I figured the
changer would be safer and more secure under the rear deck. I have some pics
of both the changer and controller mounting locations at
http://www.geocities.com/cdaudis4/Audi100/default.htm (just click on
Interior Pics). As for interior mounting, I also had no luck. There were no
areas large enough to accommodate the unit. HTH.
