Also,
Check subframe and Control Arm bushings. thats what caused my Forward to Reverse clunk.

Lister Bill Rowe had a clunk with his 89 200 that turned out to be a
mis-aligned driveshaft. Try loosening the 2 bolts that hold the carrier
bearing and moving them in the opposite direction (there are litte slots
that allow room for adjustment). Although typically you would hear this
clunk while moving too but it is still worth checking.
