Fun roads in VT

Suggestion:
Get off I89 at the Bethel exit, #3, and head toward and through the village
of Bethel in the direction of Randolph on Rte. 12. About 2 miles or so out
of Bethel, you'll cross a narrow concrete bridge and a 100 yards or so after
that is Campbrook, or Bethel Mt. Road on the left. Take that road and don't
make any turns, just follow the sporadic yellow lines. At the top of the
hill, you will look out on Killington, and back on Vt and NH. It is truly
beautiful up at the top, and a bit like Skyline Drive since they re-did it.
(The Bethel side is a bit rough in spots, and there are a few reverse camber
turns- a lot of fun in the winter with ice). Continue on until you come to a
stop sign. Turn left at this point and drop down into the village of
Rochester, where you will meet Rte. 100. Make a right and take that up to
B&J's. That section of road is beautiful as well, as it goes up through
Granville Gulf. (Road and Track did some road testing on that section back
in the 60's.) My place is about a mile to the left of the stop sign, give a
holler if you need any assistance, or want to see what a 90q with a broken
timing belt looks like. Bethel is having a festival this weekend, so it may
be a little slow getting through, especially around 10 Am Sat., when the
parade goes through. Total distance from Rte. 12 to Rochester and Rte. 100
is about 15 miles.

have a good drive.
