I've always been a big fan of them. Velcro may add stability, if, for some reason, you can't get enough tension with a wire-tie tool.

Sure. And if Velcro doesn't work, a couple of industrial size wire ties do
the job. The sticky back doesn't always work in dusty situations...but
wireties do.
